Archeology: Digging the Past

About this event

Come see the tools archeologists use and find out why archaeology matters at the Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Site educator Logan Baird will explain the purpose behind the Rayburn archeology project of the 1970s, share the project map and its conclusions, and show pictures of artifacts found on site so visitors can guess what each object is. This free, come-and-go program is intended for all ages.
