About Southeastern Oklahoma State University Legacy Plaza
Southeastern Oklahoma State University Legacy Plaza is a landscaped campus landmark, gathering place and ceremonial space on the university's Front Lawn in Durant. Opened in 2023, the plaza incorporates donor and class bricks, winding pathways, water features and the River Crossing water wall as the first phase of Southeastern's planned Heritage Trail. The plaza is also home to The Two Brothers, a monumental bronze sculpture by Southeastern alumna and Choctaw artist Jane Semple Umsted celebrating the university's relationship with sovereign tribal nations.
