About Leonard Park Aquatic Center
Leonard Park Aquatic Center is Gainesville's seasonal municipal swimming and water-recreation facility inside Leonard Park. The approximately two-million-gallon aquatic center gives families a substantial summer alternative to a basic neighborhood pool, with an 18-foot water slide, drop slide, diving board, zero-entry area with children's play features, an approximately 8-foot climbing wall and deck areas for relaxing between swims. Gainesville Parks & Recreation also uses the center for swimming instruction, water aerobics, birthday and cabana rentals, private pool parties and special community programming. The aquatic center shares Leonard Park with Frank Buck Zoo and other recreation facilities, making the park a strong multi-activity Gainesville destination. The current 2026 public swim schedule is daily from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM during the operating season.
