About Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site
Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site preserves the original 1870s Denison home where Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States and Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Europe during World War II, was born on October 14, 1890. Period furnishings inside the modest frame house interpret the working-class life of the Eisenhower family around the turn of the 20th century, while the visitor center features exhibits and memorabilia exploring Eisenhower's military career, presidency and connection to Denison. Operated by the Texas Historical Commission, the site offers facilitated tours, school and homeschool programs, family activities and recurring special events.
