About Three Valley Museum
Three Valley Museum is a nonprofit history museum in downtown Durant operated by the Durant Historical Society. Opened in 1976, the museum preserves artifacts, photographs, documents and exhibits telling the story of Durant, Bryan County and southeast Oklahoma from the area's beginnings in the 19th century through the present. One of its signature attractions is a second-floor small-town exhibit recreating more than 20 businesses and scenes from the early 1900s, including a law office, doctor's office, child's room, parlor and general store. Other major exhibits explore regional transportation history and Native American history in southeast Oklahoma. The museum also maintains a gift shop and presents historical programs, fundraisers, educational events and community activities.

The museum's current 2026 official homepage publishes a split-access schedule: Tuesday-Thursday from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM only the downstairs museum, gift shop and Main Street office are listed as open; Friday-Saturday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM both upstairs and downstairs museum areas and the gift shop are open. No current Monday or Sunday public hours are listed on that page. Older tourism listings currently show a different schedule, so TWG follows the museum's own current 2026 homepage. Visitors specifically wanting to see the second-floor historic-town exhibit should plan for Friday or Saturday or call ahead.
