The Backyard at Waterloo Lake Regional Park is a concentrated outdoor recreation area in Denison featuring lighted pickleball courts, lighted horseshoe pits, cornhole boards, ladder toss, table tennis, chess and checkers, a gazebo, pavilion area, playground equipment, restroom facility and grill. The area also serves as a convenient recreation and trail hub, with parking for the paved walking track and access toward several Waterloo trail connections. Denison Parks and Recreation also uses The Backyard as a location for organized programs including pickleball instruction and play events.
