About Russell Tennis Center

Russell Tennis Center is Austin College's outdoor competition tennis facility on the north end of its Sherman campus. The eight-court complex, formally home to the Jordan Family Courts at the Russell Tennis Center, hosts Austin College men's and women's tennis matches as well as larger collegiate competition. The current courts date to 2007, while the original Russell Tennis Stadium was built in 1974. Major reconstruction and enhancements completed during the 2018-2019 period included rebuilt competition courts, shaded spectator seating and other facility improvements. The center remains an active home venue for Kangaroo tennis and has also hosted championship-level events including the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tennis Championships.
