About Red River Railroad Museum
Red River Railroad Museum is a nonprofit transportation-history museum inside Denison's historic Katy Depot. The museum preserves and interprets the history of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, commonly known as the Katy, and the enormous role rail transportation played in the creation and growth of Denison and North Texas. Exhibits use artifacts, photographs, documents, memorabilia and interpretive displays to explore railroad communication, steam and diesel technology, passenger travel, railroad workers and the arrival of the first train into Texas from the north. After operating at a temporary downtown location for several years, the museum relocated back into the historic Katy Depot in April 2026.
