About Ida Green Communication Center

Ida Green Communication Center is Austin College's dedicated communication, media studies and theatre facility in Sherman. Built in 1972, the 38,372-square-foot center contains multiple performance, exhibition, learning and meeting spaces. Its main 500-seat theatre was extensively renovated beginning in 2020 and reopened as Sally and Jim Nation Theatre, while the renovated first floor also created the Sally and Jim Nation Learning Commons. Other spaces include Paul Beardsley Arena Theatre in the basement, Ida Green Gallery, a student exhibition room and the Cecil Green Conference Suite. Ida Green continues to host performances, exhibitions, lectures, conferences, community celebrations and other Austin College programs.
