About Hughey Gymnasium

Hughey Gymnasium is Austin College's primary indoor basketball and volleyball venue in Sherman. Located within the Robert T. Mason Athletic-Recreation Complex, the gym hosts all home Kangaroo basketball and volleyball games as well as intramural competition, physical-activity classes and other campus programming. Its playing floor was replaced in 2020 and named Jim Rolfe Court in honor of Austin College alumnus, former basketball player and longtime supporter James Rolfe. Beyond varsity athletics, Hughey Gymnasium also serves as a flexible gathering space for selected College events, including alumni athletics celebrations and awards programs.
