About Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary
Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is a private nonprofit natural science museum and 289-acre nature preserve in McKinney dedicated to bringing people and nature together. Visitors can explore indoor natural-history exhibits, gardens and more than 6.5 miles of trails through Blackland prairie, wetlands, bottomland forest, upland forest and white rock escarpment habitats. The Heard also offers educational programs, guided experiences, seasonal exhibits, special events and nature-based activities for children, families and adults.
