About Frontier Village & Museum
Frontier Village & Museum is a volunteer-operated living-history museum in Loy Lake Park preserving 11 of Grayson County's earliest historic homes and cabins, with structures dating back to the 1840s. Visitors can explore pioneer-era architecture, rotating museum exhibits and local-history collections while learning about the families and communities that shaped early Grayson County. The site also offers guided tours, genealogy and archival resources, heritage-skills classes, children's programming, field-trip opportunities and Living History events featuring demonstrations such as blacksmithing, food preservation and traditional frontier skills. Regular self-guided admission currently provides exterior viewing of the historic houses and cabins, while interior tours require a guided-tour booking or participation during designated Living History events. Current regular hours are Friday through Monday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
