About 517 Gallery

517 Gallery is the public art gallery operated by the Denison Arts Council in downtown Denison. Now located in the Arts Council's permanent home at 500 W Woodard Street, the gallery showcases rotating exhibitions by local, regional and emerging artists and serves as a community venue for opening receptions, artist talks, demonstrations and other cultural programming. The gallery primarily accommodates two-dimensional work such as painting and photography while also offering limited space for sculpture and other three-dimensional work. Exhibitions rotate several times throughout the year, and the gallery's recurring Second Saturday receptions give visitors opportunities to experience new art and connect with artists and the local creative community.
